Trip to Philip Island

Did so many things for the first time ! Had a great trip to Philip Island.
We started in the morning of 04rth dec Took the Vline coach from SouthernCross Station and changed buses and Koo-Wee-Rup.(Future travellers may note - the changing of buses is really simple and the only other bus we found at Koo-wee-rup was out bus !)

We went all the way to Cowes ,(though our accomodation was at New Haven ) to get a 'feel' of things ! And when  landed at Cowes and after talking at the information center and a few phone calls later we realised that  transportation could be an issue. Note: Most ( if not all) car rentals open at 5 in the evening and you may not be able to book a car before that.
With that being the case we strolled at the cowes beach ,had lunch and took the next available bus to NewHaven (around 2 PM). Island Accomodation is a clean little place, and we had a good stay there in one of the six beded rooms. This was the first time we staryed in such an accomodation and were not sure of what to expect. But we did like the place - clean , silent and spacious!

Managed to rent a car in the evening. Again for the first time in life! The Ford Focus was good (Ofcoursed we missed our Santro !). The car did make a difference -- it was near impossible to travel in the Island without a car - and the Sun was at its hottest.

Saturday evening was spent on watching the 'little penguins' at the penguin parade.cute little penguins coming out of sea to their 'homes' in the land. This is really an amazing sight and we had never seen anything like this before !! Loved it !!

Checked out of Island Accomodatuon on the morning of 5th , drove to Churchill island. A very very small island where you can walk the complete perimeter. If you are at the right time you can watch sheep rearing and other demonstrations. The milking of the cows is usually in the morning and my wife did participate and succesfully milked a cow !Churchil Island has lots of animals -- Horses, Wallabees ( they look like little Kangaroos), Peacocks, Rabbits ....And we did get a chance to take some close snaps with a horse!

Drove to the Koala Conservatory.Interesting creatures -- They sleep for 20 hrs a day and seem consume very little energy. Cute creatures and are like little teddy bears. You will be  lucky if you see a Koala moving , they are sleeping on the trees most of the times.

Went back to the beach - Cowes stayed there till evening and thats it !!
Will upload the photos soon .

No Plans for the next weekend
I have a Virtual Chess tournament on 18-19 Dec
There may be changes in my work location -- travel again !!
